In 2010, TCU was coming off a perfect regular season. Its one loss was to Boise State in the BCS Fiesta Bowl. Entering Dalton’s final season, TCU again had to be perfect to have any shot at a BCS game. It wound up going to the Rose Bowl, where the Horned Frogs defeated Wisconsin to finish No. 2 in the final AP poll. Playing in the Mountain West Conference left TCU and Dalton no choice but to be perfect during the regular season to have any prayer for a prime postseason game.
TCU’s series loss to Oklahoma State over the weekend is “part of life in the Big 12,” coach Jim Schlossnagle said.
“We play a good schedule, it’s a good conference,” he said. “Sometimes you don’t play well. You’re not going to play well all the time.”
TCU will continue its 12 game homestand Tuesday night when it plays host to Oklahoma in a non-conference game. The match-up will be televised on FSSW+ at 6:30 p.m.
Tuition at TCU continues to steadily rise, but the cost for room and board is still below the competition of other private schools across the state of Texas.
