Left-hander Alex Young pitched two scoreless innings and was credited with the win, but starter Mitchell Traver, Preston Morrison, Ryan Burnett and Riley Ferrell also held Rice scoreless in a 3-1 win at Lupton Stadium. The Frogs (8-1), ranked third in the nation, will visit No. 23 Southern Cal on Friday, head to No. 6 UCLA on Saturday and face defending national champion Vanderbilt, ranked No. 4, on Sunday at Dodger Stadium.

After almost a week off from game action, the No. 1 TCU Horned Frogs showed little affects from the time off as they defeated No. 10 Rice 3-1 Tuesday night at Lupton Stadium. Riley Ferrell closed out the game in record-setting fashion, picking up his 21st career save to set the school record.

The TCU women's basketball team will compete at the 2015 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship as the No. 3 seed, meeting sixth-seeded Texas in the quarterfinals at 8:30 p.m., on Saturday at American Airlines Center.
