ESPN has announced that it will televise the TCU-Minnesota season opener on Thursday, September 3rd, at 8 p.m. central time. It will be the third time the two schools have met.

Minnesota won the first matchup 9-7 in 1974, while TCU won last year's game 30-7. Trevone Boykin threw for 258 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 92 yards as TCU's new-look offense racked up 427 total yards. The defense forced five turnovers on the day, and held running back David Cobb, who would end up with more than 1,600 rushing yards on the season, to just 41 yards on 15 carries.

TCU finished the 2014 campaign 12-1, capping the season with a 42-3 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl victory over Ole Miss. Minnesota finished the season 8-5, dropping their bowl game to Missouri.

TCU has two Thursday games on the schedule, the second coming on October 29th, when the Frogs host West Virginia.
