Early Sunday morning, it looked as if TCU Basketball had received an early Mother's Day surprise, earning the commitment of JUCO Player of the Year Chris Boucher.
Malique Trent, fellow TCU commit, playing in Las Vegas with Boucher at the JUCO All-Star Game tweeted early Sunday morning that Boucher had committed to TCU, but that tweet has since been deleted. Boucher, who recently canceled a planned visit to Oregon, was reportedly still considering offers from TCU and Texas Tech.
Boucher, a 6'10" forward, averaged 23 points and 12 rebounds last season for Northwest College and was highly sought after, with offers from Oregon, Texas Tech, Minnesota, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, and Pitt. Boucher is regarded as a four star prospect by both Rivals and 247 Sports and is ranked as the #9 JUCO recruit.
Trent Johnson and staff have been recruiting Boucher since last summer, well before he had become a known commodity on the JUCO market.
Boucher would be a great bookend to the 2015 class, joining the following commits:
Malique Trent
Three Star Combo Guard
Lyrik Shreiner
Three Star Guard
Jalon Miller
Three Star Forward
