The Frogs will host Rick Barnes and the Volunteers on January 30th.

Trent Johnson and the TCU men's basketball team will look to improve to 3-0 in the Big 12/SEC Challenge next season when they play host to Rick Barnes and the Tennessee Volunteers.

In 2013 the Horned Frogs defeated Mississippi State two seasons ago 71-61 in Starkville, thanks to 20 points from the recently transferred Charles Hill Jr., 16 points from Kyan Anderson, and 16 rebounds from Karviar Shepherd.

In 2014 TCU defeated Ole Miss as a part of the challenge, 66-54. Shepherd led the way for the Frogs with 14 points and nine rebounds.

TCU and Tennessee will square off on January 30, 2016 in Fort Worth, in the second meeting ever between the two programs. TCU won the first meeting 73-59, back in 1991. This will also be the first time TCU gets to host a Big 12/SEC Challenge game.

Of course, TCU is familiar with Tennessee's new head coach, Rick Barnes, who joins the Volunteers after 17 seasons leading the Texas Longhorns.

The Big 12 leads the overall series 13-7 and will look to improve on that next season. All of the games will be televised on ESPN, ESPN 2, or ESPNU.
