TCU has one key advantage Baylor can't overcome | FOX Sports

Stewart Mandel gives his thoughts as to why TCU will beat Baylor and win the conference.

Ultimately, I believe the schedule sets up a little more favorably for TCU than it does for Baylor. Over four straight weeks in November, the Bears visit K-State for a tricky Thursday night date, host Oklahoma then visit Oklahoma State before their Black Friday showdown with TCU. Briles’ offense executes with impeccable speed and precision at home, but it often bogs down outside of Waco.

The college football crew of Rece Davis, Danny Kannell, and Joey Galloway were all on campus this week as ESPN gears up for college football.

“He is a really sharp and engaging guy,” Davis said. “You can just see the confidence brimming from him, not only on the practice field, but also in the video room. He was very sure of himself, sure of what he was looking at, very much in command when he was explaining what TCU’s offense was trying to do and what he saw on the defensive end.”

The Day TCU's Title Dreams Died In Kansas | Rock Chalk Talk

A good piece on how the Kansas game had ripple effects through the rest of the season.

Still, KU QB Michael Cummings tore the Horned Frog secondary up all day. After Nigel King went Randy Moss down the sideline for a 78 yard TD to put the Jayhawks up 27-17 midway through the third quarter, the Jayhawks didn't even need to win. They'd already left a stink on TCU's National Title hopes. In the minds of the fickle College Football voting powers, when a terrible team leaves a skid mark of a competitive game on good team's resume there's no wiping it off.

TCU defense already banged up | ESPN

Hopefully all these guys will be 100% by September 3.

There's no reason for the Horned Frogs to be concerned yet. But this is a defense with a lot of moving parts. Getting some cohesion before a tricky Sept. 3 opener at Minnesota will be key.
