Patterson, after his most frustrating season as a head coach, realized he needed to make major changes. Not only did his offense struggle to keep pace on the scoreboard with the rapid-fire offenses in the Big 12, it also couldn’t give the Horned Frogs defense an adequate look at the speed it would face in a game.

The wide receiver is a major target for the Frogs, and would be a huge addition to the class of 2016.

"You have to make the right decision, and you don't want to make your decision too early," he said. "I feel like I made my decision too early. It was my first offer, and my first D-I offer really, and I guess I got a little excited and made the decision too early.

"I'm not saying LSU is a bad decision. I just got excited, but I am still considering LSU."

The news comes two weeks after official scholarship offers from Mississippi State and TCU, two other schools in which Sullivan has long held notable interest.

With the Cowboys current WR situation it seems like Porter may have a shot to be the 5th WR on the roster.

“We’re always trying to upgrade,” Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Sunday. “I think we did a good job yesterday signing a couple of running backs to help us, brought some young guys to work out. They actually practiced a little bit yesterday. And it’s really the same thing with the receiver crew.
