In what has become a staple of Frogs O' War, we'll once again be reviewing the efforts of Horned Frog Alumnae/i currently playing in the ranks of the NFL. So without further ado:
Andy Dalton, QB, Cincinnati Bengals
This Week
Dalton had a very solid week, picking apart the Raiders defense en route to a 33-13 Bengals victory. The win temporarily quiets all of the hate surrounding the former Frog for his playoff performances in seasons past.
Next Week: vs. San Diego Chargers
P.J. Dawson, LB, Cincinnati Bengals
This Week
Dawson picked up his first NFL tackle at the 8:51 mark of the 4th quarter, as he and fellow linebacker Vincent Rey combined to take down Latavius Murray after a six yard gain.
Next Week: vs. San Diego Chargers
David Hawthorne, LB, New Orleans Saints
This Week
Hawthorne, the starting WLB for the Saints, picked up two tackles, including one for loss, in the 13-19 loss to Arizona.
Next Week: vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Jerry Hughes, DE, Buffalo Bills
This Week
Hughes and the Bills absolutely demolished the Indianapolis Colts in what may have been the most impressive performance on Sunday. For his contributions, the starting right defensive end tallied four tackles. He also has a meal named after him now at the Bills stadium.
Next Week: vs. New England Patriots
Jason Verrett, CB, San Diego Chargers
This Week
Jason Verrett totaled four tackles and a pass defended in the Chargers season-opening win over the Detroit Lions. The second-year Charger looks to have a solid season after missing much of his rookie year with a shoulder injury.
Next Week: @ Cincinnati Bengals
Jeremy Kerley, WR, New York Jets
This Week
Kerley returned two punts for a total of 13 yards in a 31-10 win over the Cleveland Browns, but did not catch any passes. He's been bumped down the depth chart a ways, thanks to the arrival of Brandon Marshall and Chris Owusu.
Next Week: @ Indianapolis Colts
Marshall Newhouse, RT, New York Giants
This Week
Newhouse got the start at right tackle for the New York Giants, and played admirably in a 27-26 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. After allowing some pressure on Eli Manning early, Newhouse held his own and largely kept Cowboys' defensive ends Jeremy Mincey and DeMarcus Lawrence at bay.
Next Week: vs. Atlanta Falcons
Clint Gresham, LS, Seattle Seahawks
This Week
Gresham once again holds down his position as the long snapper for the Seahawks, and was on the field for multiple field goals and punts in Seattle's overtime loss to the St. Louis Rams.
Next Week: @ Green Bay Packers
Tank Carder, LB, Cleveland Browns
This Week
Carder was active for the Browns this week, seeing time on special teams during Cleveland's 31-10 loss to the New York Jets.
Next Week: vs. Tennessee Titans
Colin Jones, S, Carolina Panthers
This Week
Jones was active for the Panthers this week during their win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. He primarily played on special teams, and is listed as the third-string free safety.
Tayo Fabuluje, OL, Chicago Bears
This Week
Fabuluje was listed as inactive this week for the Bears, who lost to the Green Bay Packers to fall to 0-1 on Sunday.
Daryl Washington, LB, Arizona Cardinals
This Week
Washington is currently serving an indefinite suspension.
Next Week: vs. Arizona Cardinals
Frogs on the Practice Squad
Jonathan Anderson, LB, Chicago Bears
Stansly Maponga, DE, Atlanta Falcons
