From the desk of Mark Cohen:

The Big 12 has announced TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin as its Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Horned Frogs' 56-37 win over SMU.

Boykin totaled 504 yards of offense and six touchdowns. He passed for 454 yards and five scores while completing 21-of-30 attempts. He also had a 20-yard touchdown run as part of 50 yards rushing.

A senior from Dallas, Boykin has a nation’s-best streak of 18 consecutive games with a touchdown pass. His 454 yards in the air were 6 shy of a career high in passing, set last year when he threw for 460 yards versus Iowa State.

Boykin extended his TCU career record with the fourth 400-yard passing game of his career. He also became the only Horned Frog with multiple games of five touchdown passes. The 454 yards passing were the fourth most in a game in TCU history.

No. 2 TCU is at Texas Tech Saturday. Kickoff is at 3:45 p.m. with the game televised on FOX.

Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield was the other Co-Offensive Player of the Week after setting a school record for total offense with 572 yards, including 487 passing yards and 85 rushing yards. He also threw for four touchdowns, and ran for two more.
