It's been a busy day in the rumormill for Doug Meacham, as at the beginning of the day he was almost the head coach at Texas State, but were unable to make the financial numbers work. This afternoon, however, rumors started flying that a different university in Texas that favors maroon was interested in hiring Meacham- a university that certainly has no issues with making big financial numbers appear. I'm speaking, of course, about the Texas A&M Aggies, who apparently have made Doug Meacham their number one target to fill the OC position that was vacated when they parted ways with Jake Spavital earlier in the week. TCU and A&M insiders initially reported that Meacham had accepted the job earlier today, but those reports were later refuted by Jeremy Clark and the Dallas Morning News.
We'll keep you updated as further news breaks, but at the moment it seems that, much like their big brother Longhorns, A&M made a run at one of TCU's two OCs and came away empty handed.
