Yes, the former TCU pitcher now known for his slinging skills in the Bigs knocked out a three-run homer Monday night in the Chicago Cubs’ NLDS game against the San Francisco Giants. It was off the great Madison Bumgarner, too — the first home run Bumgarner has given a pitcher. Ever.
The dinger gave the Cubs an early 3-0 lead in the second inning.
It prompted Jim Schlossnagle to tweet this sweet congratulatory message to his former player.
Super proud of this guy @JArrieta34 in every way but who is his dumb college coach that didn't let him hit? pic.twitter.com/bNcbZcSKtp

Not all that dumb, Schloss. :)
(Haha you thought it was something negative, didn’t you?)
