Texas outgained TCU 254 yards to just 102, but the Frogs scored the lone TD of the half to capture the lead.
The Frogs forced a Texas punt to open the game, and immediately went on an 8-play, 75 yard touchdown drive that make it look far, far too easy. Hill went 5/5 for 52 yards, and capped the drive with a 4-yard touchdown run to give TCU the 7-0 lead.
Then, TCU’s defense had to take over, as Texas and D’Onta Foreman would start to ground and pound. Texas found themselves inside TCU’s 30 yard line five times in the first half, but they only came away with six points.
The Longhorns, down 7-3, faced a 4th and goal from the 1. Having already missed a field goal, Charlie Strong opted to go for it, and TCU’s defense stood tall, stuffing Foreman for a turnover on downs.
Hill would promptly throw an interception, putting Texas back in first and goal, but the defense stood tall again, forcing a field goal.
TCU will receive the ball to start the second half, and hopefully the offense can get going again. After going 5/5 on the first drive, Hill was 4-10 on the next seven.
