TCU Random Fact of the Week: Gary Patterson’s Alma Mater

Gary Patterson will face his old purple on Saturday.

NCAA Football: Oklahoma State at Texas Christian Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

It’s TCU’s last regular season game...waaaaa! And in the final face off at the Carter (assuming they don’t go to the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl, or something like that), TCU plays their head coach’s alma mater, Kansas State.

Gary Patterson was a Wildcat from 1980-1981, playing two positions, strong safety and outside linebacker. He spent the following year working as a graduate assistant before earning his degree in physical education in 1983.

Now here’s the Random Fact that’s kind of funny.

Ya juuuust missed him! ;)

And now look at them, playing against each other as head coaches. Patterson just coached his 201st game at TCU, while Snyder recently celebrated his 200th win.

Snyder has always been a classy dude. See you ‘Cats at the Carter.
