DL Tyreece Lott Declares for the Frogs

A good week keeps getting better as TCU gets the pledge of another top defensive player.

For the second time in just a few days, the Frogs have beat out Oklahoma for a top defensive prospect - and this one comes from the Sooners own backyard.

Defensive lineman Tyreece Lott, out of Ardmore, OK, chose TCU over OU, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, and Kansas after visiting Fort Worth over the weekend. At 6’3” and 265 pounds, the three star senior was fast moving up recruiting boards after receiving his first offer, from KU, earlier this season.

Lott had visits to both Norman and Stillwater lined up for January, but after spending the last week of the season with the Frogs and last weekend on an official visit, he cancelled those plans and made a strong verbal pledge to Gary Patterson. Calling his commitment “a relief”, the once lightly regarded prospect has a future home under one of the best defensive minds in the country, and the opportunity to get on the field quickly if he is able to add some weight to his frame. Projected as an inside defensive lineman, he will compete for snaps immediately with the graduation of Aaron Curry, or could continue to work on the end where GP will need to replace James McFarland and Josh Carraway.

Lott is the eleventh commit in the class of 2017 and the seventh three star. The Frogs still have room to sign several more players, so expect the good news to keep coming over the next few weeks.

Check out his highlights below, and welcome to the Frog Fam, Tyreece!
