Championship week, jungle style

Giving you something to do when you could care less about the playoff

Guys, place a bet on TCU Basketball to win the natty. They are still at 500/1 and I have a hunch that we do not suck anymore.

Last week I went 2-2 with picking the the underdog to cover in every game. It should have been 3-1 but Alabama covered by .5. It could have been way worse. Anyway, that brings my season total to 11-8. Again, by sticking with me, you would be up 30,000 dollars (assuming of course you bet 10,000 dollars a game).

Let’s start with a Friday night game

Colorado (10-2, 8-1) vs Washington (11-1, 8-1)

The Huskies open as an 8 point favorite in this game. This game has college football playoff implications for possibly both teams. The Buffs are 11-1 against the spread this year.

MY PICK: Colorado

MY REASON: I don’t really have a good one. Just trust me on this one.

GAME NUMBER TWO: Oklahoma State (9.5-1.5, 7-1) At Oklahoma (9-2, 8-0)

This game always is chaotic. I remember a couple years ago watching Tyreke “the freak” Hill run a punt return back to beat the Sooners in the final seconds of the game. It was dope. Some have said that this game could have playoff implications, but sadly, it will only decide who was the best team in the worst conference. The Sooners open up as 11 point favorites.

MY PICK: Pokes

MY REASON: I think the cowboys will lose this game, but I think they will keep it close. I like the fact that they’re a double digit dog. In their “one” loss this year (to Baylor... ugh) they lost by three points. Look for the cowboys to keep this one close.

HOMER GAME OF THE WEEK: Kansas State (7-4, 5-3) At TCU (6-5, 4-4)

TCU opens up as 3.5 point favorites as Gandalf strolls into town on Shadowfax, who will show him the meaning of haste. TCU is coming off of a win against a very deflated Texas Team.

MY PICK: Frogs

MY REASON: Frogs

Game Four: Alabama (12-0, 8-0) vs. Florida (8-3, 6-2)

Alabama opens up as a 24 point favorite against the Gators as they look to stay perfect and enter into the college football playoff (again). Florida is coming off of a loss to Florida State where they did not look very good. I mean fo realz, they looked not good. like not good at all. Like bad.

MY PICK: Florida (Hit em’ with that misdirection)

MY REASON: So. Many. Points. Knowing my luck, however, Alabama will probably win by 25 points to cover. But I think the Gators will cover.

Game Five: Clemson (11-1, 7-1) vs. Virginia Tech (9-3, 6-2)

Clemson opens up as a 10.5 favorite against the Hokies. Clemson in the past few weeks has looked less than stellar. Consider it wishful thinking, but I think the Hokies will in the very least keep it close. I actually like them to upset the tigers to wreak more havoc in a season has been tumultuous to say the least.

MY PICK: Virginia Tech

MY REASON: See Above

BONUS PICK: Take the under in the Big 10 Championship. I have no idea the line, but I feel good about it.

Consider this a preemptive you’re welcome for the money you win this weekend.

Onward.
