TCU struggled out of the gates early against the Mustangs and were never quite able to catch up. With the loss to SMU, the Frogs fell to 8-1 on the season and have now lost five straight to their rival.
The Frogs struggled from three point, shooting only 27.3% from beyond the arc. TCU also got into foul trouble early in the second half and it made coming back very difficult.
There were a couple bright spots in the box score for TCU. Kenrich Williams once again led the team in rebounding, hauling in 13 boards. Alex Robinson came of the bench and was a great facilitator, finishing the game with 10 assists to only 2 turnovers.
Vladimir Broziansky also had a good game for the Frogs off of the bench, dropping in 12 points. For the second straight game, Vlad did not miss a single field goal. He ended the night going 4/4 from both the field and the free throw line.
SMU was led by Duke transfer Semi Ojeleye, who finished the game with 23 points and 7 rebounds. Shake Milton also had a big night, scoring 17 points.
TCU will now look to bounce back over their next three games before conference play. The Frogs face Wofford, Texas Southern, and Bradley and should be able to come away with three wins in those games. It all starts with the 3-6 Terriers at Schollmaier Arena on Saturday at 4.
