Five-star center Marques Bolden has narrowed his list of prospective schools down to four, and one of the finalists might surprise you. After cutting Alabama, Baylor, Kansas, and Wake Forest from his list, the DeSoto High School senior is now choosing between Duke, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and TCU.
The Frogs have been on Bolden's radar since day one, and the program is currently the closest remaining school to his home south of Dallas. He has already taken official visits to Duke, Kentucky, and Oklahoma, and recently met with current Duke assistant and former Oklahoma head coach Jeff Capel, according to a report from 247Sports.
Although Bolden has yet to schedule an official visit at TCU, is entirely possible that he has already been on campus for an unofficial visit, as his home is so close to Fort Worth.
The 6'10" center is currently the 20th-ranked player on the ESPN100 list. He comes in as the #2 center in the nation and the #4 player in the State of Texas. Already named to both the McDonalds All-American and Jordan Brand Classic rosters, Bolden is one of the most sought-after prospects yet to announce his decision.
Bolden will have some time to make his decision, as the signing period for men's basketball doesn't re-open until April 13. Although there is still a long way to go, being included as one of the four finalists for a prospect like Bolden is a major testament to the job that Trent Johnson is doing on the recruiting trail. Winning recruiting battles like these will provide the foundation for TCU to compete on the national stage for years to come.
Stay tuned for continued updates from the recruiting trail.
