It's clear on National Signing Day that every player who signs wants to join that team, but Vernon Scott II may be the most enthusiastic recruit of TCU's 2016 class.
The Arlington native hails from Mansfield Summit High School, playing just a short drive from TCU. He originally committed to TCU in late July, and promptly shut his recruitment down. It's always nice to see guys who are pumped to be Horned Frogs, who also could be remembered as great contributors when their TCU careers are over. Scott certainly could be one of those men.
At 6'2", 200 pounds, Scott is an imposing safety, with decent speed and good vision. His coverage skills need some work, but he's not afraid to stick his nose in and wrap guys up, and he could be the next, big, run-stopping safety in a long line of them for the Horned Frogs.
Check out his HUDL below, and welcome Vernon to the #FrogFam!
