In a strange turn of events today, TCU is losing a defensive lineman. Tevin Lawson is apparently transferring closer to home to play football at Nicholls State.

Lawson, a junior, appeared in seven games for the Horned Frogs in 2015, collecting 13 tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble. The defensive tackle was originally a 4-star recruit who selected the Frogs over LSU, Texas, Oklahoma, and Auburn.
The Frogs have already lost a defensive tackle to graduation this cycle (Davion Pierson), so losing Lawson is big. It does open the door for Ross Blacklock, who signed his NLI with TCU today, to see even more playing time early. TCU still has Aaron Curry, Chris Bradley, Casey McDermott Vai, and Joe Broadnax at DT, but that position requires depth for those guys to be effective throughout the course of a season.
Best of luck to Lawson.
