Luken Baker has already done a lot in his very young TCU baseball career. Beating Texas in Austin on a cool Thursday March night will hopefully be another notch in his belt. The Horned Frogs brining a piping hot offense in Austin, where things are–erratic. Though the record doesn't prove it, Texas has shown a lot of positives throughout their 2016 campaign, but errors, among other things, have buried them in series such as Cal and more recently–Tulane.
Texas has also been plagued with injuries, most recently losing 2B Joe Baker who suffered a stress fracture in his ankle and will be out 4-6 weeks. The Horns however, are coming off a promising 11-2 thumping of UTSA and shuffling of the bullpen could breathe new life into Texas baseball when they desperately need it. It's a big series for both teams, but even this early in the season, Texas can't afford to get swept.
The battle of the righties should be interesting tonight with Baker facing off against Morgan Cooper.
Cooper is sitting at 1-0 on the season with a 2.50 ERA.
