TCU To Battle Auburn In SEC/Big 12 Challenge

The Frogs and Tigers will face off this coming January at Schollmaier Arena.

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Jamie Dixon will have a chance to lead TCU Basketball to a 4-0 record all-time in the SEC/Big 12 challenge this winter, as the Frogs face off against Bruce Pearl and the Auburn Tigers January 28th in Fort Worth. Having defeated Tennessee a season ago in a stirring comeback, the new-look Frogs have a chance to take down another solid SEC hoops team this winter.

Dixon, who is of course a TCU Basketball alum, will look to make his mark in his first season in the Big 12 and at the helm of TCU Hoops, and a win against a non-conference opponent on a national stage would certainly do just that.

The Big 12 has historically dominated this series, retaining conference-wide bragging rights on the hardwood through the first three season of the matchups. 2017 should be no different, with Kansas, Texas, Iowa State, and Oklahoma all returning difference making players, and Texas Tech and TCU injecting fresh life into programs on the rise with new head coaches.
