Kevin Millar Talks TCU Baseball and Football with FOW

The World Series winner and Austin resident has put a lot of stock in the 'underdog' Frogs in Omaha.

Kevin Millar played his college ball at Lamar University in Beaumont, and the experience of playing Texas ensured that this Austin resident is no fan of the Horns. When he needed a Texas team to root for, who did he turn to? None other than the TCU Horned Frogs.

Mr. Millar was kind enough to give us a few minutes on the phone this morning to fill us in on the Allstate Good Hands in the Stands Program, a partnership between Allstate, a company well-known by college sports fans across the country, and the Omaha Boys Town, a local organization that works with local kids to provide them opportunities they may otherwise not have.

Allstate will make a $500 donation per caught foul ball and will double the donation to $1,000 for each home run ball caught, up to $25,000. The funds will go toward replacing the track at the Boys Town facility that is used by hundreds of athletes each year. Last year, the donation from Allstate supported new athletic equipment for the Boys Town sports program. A special check presentation from Allstate will take place on the field during the CWS with members and coaches of the Boys Town youth track team prior to game six on June 20.

A true Frog fan, who follows the baseball team along with John Lackey and has a TCU Football helmet on his desk, Millar talked plenty of baseball with us, as well as dropped some HOT TAKES on Texas BBQ.

Give it a listen!
