Michigan kicker Andrew David transferring to TCU, per teammate | M Live

It appears the redshirt freshman is headed to Fort Worth, where he will have to sit out the year in football, but may be eligible for baseball in the spring, if that’s part of TCU’s plan for him.

David -- from Massilon, Ohio -- originally committed to Michigan in 2013 after receiving a full scholarship offer from former coach Brady Hoke.

A year after David signed, Harbaugh inked a letter of intent from current Michigan freshman Quinn Nordin -- the top-ranked prep kicker in the country for 2016.

Oh. This is a thing, apparently.

TCU: “Those three I feel pretty good about. The fourth team I think I’m going to go TCU out of the Big 12. It’s either a Pac-12 team or TCU. Right now, I’m leaning towards TCU as my fourth team to get in.”

We suppose Herbie could change his mind on the Horned Frogs before he tapes his annual “Herbie” awards show. However, he was probably the only guy picking Oklahoma to make the CFP in the preseason last year, so he’s been right before going off the beaten path.

Why TCU is most likely Lone Star team in College Football Playoff | Sports Day

Gary Patterson will have no trouble manufacturing a chip for their shoulders, but some outsiders believe in this TCU team.

I also have TCU much higher than 13 - I have them No. 8. If Kenny Hill comes through at QB, and I think he will in a very friendly system for quarterbacks, then I think TCU can certainly challenge Oklahoma - especially getting Oklahoma in Fort Worth on Oct. 1.

Bielema: Don’t Just Look to TCU | Log Cabin Democrat

The Frogs and Hogs highlight a light week two schedule.

“Everybody wants to jump to TCU, everybody wants to jump to Ole Miss and Alabama and LSU and Florida, the games here,” Bielema says. “But we’re concentrating on Louisiana Tech. Skip Holtz is a tremendous football coach I’ve known for a long time. They’re going to come in here ready to rock and roll. They have a lot of very, very good players returning. They did lose some to the draft at key positions, but they’ll come in here with a full head of steam. We got to TCU after that. It’s going to be a tremendous challenge our kids will embrace.

Nationally ranked DeSoto names TCU pledge Shawn Robinson starting QB | Sports Day

It’s not a surprising move, but after Robinson dealt with injuries in the spring, Todd Peterman waited to name the TCU commit his starter. DeSoto opens their season Friday night.

Robinson, a four-star recruit who transferred from Denton Guyer, had been battling junior Courtney Douglas for the starting job. Robinson (6-1, 213) is ranked the fifth-best dual-threat quarterback in the nation in the Class of 2017 by 247Sports.com, and he is the top quarterback inSportsDay's Area Top 100.

Arkansas adds TCU transfer Zach Plunkett | Arkansas Online

The catcher, who would have been stuck behind junior Evan Skoug for at least one more season, is leaving Fort Worth in pursuit of more playing time. The Frogs do not have another veteran catcher behind Skoug, but did sign freshman Zachary Humphreys of DeSoto, who will serve as the backup.

Plunkett is a catcher and right-handed pitcher. He will likely have to redshirt the 2017 season and have two years of eligibility remaining.

As a sophomore, Plunkett played in 18 games and started six times at catcher. He had a .200 batting average in 25 plate appearances and a perfect fielding percentage.
