The defense needs to improve, and quickly.

It took two overtimes but Arkansas became the second team in as many weeks to top the 40-point mark against TCU. That had not happened since 2004 when the Frogs fell to Texas Tech (70-35) and South Florida (45-44) in consecutive weeks on their way to a 5-6 record.

It’s a little ridiculous to drop that far because of a double OT loss, but whatever.

TCU and Oklahoma State tumbled out of the Top 25 of both the AP and Coaches' polls after losses Saturday. Texas A&M moved up in both. Texas and Baylor stayed the same in one poll and moved up in the other. Oklahoma stayed the same in one and went down in one spot in the other.

Everything was going right in the fourth quarter, until it wasn’t.

They needed just one more thing to go right to win it — their own short field goal, 28 yards. Instead, it was blocked, and their advantage was gone. Minutes later, so was the W. “I told them I was proud of them,” Patterson said. “You had a chance to win it twice.” That’ll be hard to forget.
