TCU has seen multiple shifts in defensive personnel already in the young season, as Gary Patterson mixes and matches trying to find a way to get the on-field results he covets. Heading into the first conference game of the season, against Iowa State, he will need to make a change due to injury.
Sophomore Montrel Wilson, who started the season opener against South Dakota State, was pushed out of the starting lineup against Arkansas by Ty Summers and Sammy Douglas, and didn’t see the field through the first three series. He was not able to finish the game, leaving on crutches and receiving treatment during the Frogs Double OT loss.
After starting with a six tackle performance against the Jackrabbits, Wilson did not accumulate any stats against the Razorbacks. It is unknown at this time what Wilson’s injury is or how long it will keep him out of the lineup.
