Iowa State Cyclones @ TCU Horned Frogs Gamethread

Last Saturday, for the first time since 2013, TCU lost in Fort Worth. There is no time to stress or dwell on that loss though, as Iowa State hits town looking to bounce back from a loss of their own last week, with the winner taking an early lead in the Big 12 standings.

It's going to be all right. Losses at home haven't been too common for TCU in the past decade, so when a game like last week happens the natural reaction is to think that the sky is falling, but taking the long view, TCU is still 0-0 in Big 12 play, and that means they're still playing for everything. We can't control what happens in other conferences from here, but if TCU grows from the loss, as Patterson coached teams generally do, then all of the team's goals for this season are still within reach. Be a playoff contender, win the Big 12, make damn sure Baylor doesn't win the Big 12- those goals are all still on the table, but TCU can't let Arkansas beat them twice. Today's opponent Iowa State is coming off a blowout loss to their most hated rival, and they're going to come out angry and focused, which the Frogs will have to match. They're not a team that matches up particularly well with TCU at any particular position, but they're going to throw absolutely everything at the Frogs to attempt to salvage bowl prospects, and that makes them dangerous, and if TCU has any dreams of playoffs, or even being ranked in the top 25 again, this isn't a team that they can afford to struggle with.

Let's take it to them early, often and let those of us in Australia call it early (maybe say, 3:30 AM) by making this a total blowout. This is your gamethread for TCU/Iowa State- let's get into it!

Go Frogs!
