TCU’s running game could easily dictate the pace of this game, if they’re given the chance.

The biggest unknown heading into this game for the Frogs is how much co-offensive coordinators Sonny Cumbie and Doug Meacham will call on Kyle Hicks and the rest of the running backs. After a stellar performance against Iowa State, the TCU run game has emerged as a potent threat, nearly on the level of the Frogs' spread passing attack.

The blame for the fading rivalry rests squarely on SMU’s shoulders, per Mac.

SMU has been to 15 bowls in its history. TCU has been to 15 bowls since 1999.

TCU is not the problem.

Since being left behind in the initial formation of the Big 12, SMU never lined up all of the necessary moving parts to make its football team a regionally, or nationally, relevant product.

Freshman cornerback Jeff Gladney tops a very strong list. However, it’s stull unclear if Gladney will play on Friday against SMU.

Patterson said “hopefully” Gladney will be back in time for Friday night’s game at SMU, which would allow the young corner to continue a season that could wind up putting him on the radar.

Renfro held a few receiving records before some guy named Josh Doctson came along.

Renfro was a three-time All-SWC wide receiver at TCU and was named to the league’s All-Decade Team of the 1970s. He played 10 seasons in the NFL, four the the Dallas Cowboys and six with the Houston Oilers.
