TCU’s coaching staff seems to be complete, after Jeremy Clark of HornedFrogBlitz.com broke news on Sunday afternoon that former Cal head coach Sonny Dykes will be on the TCU sidelines next season.
Sources tell me that former Cal HC Sonny Dykes is headed to #TCU. Role undetermined at this point
— Jeremy Clark (@JClarkHFB) January 15, 2017
As Clark states, Dykes’ role is still undetermined. Dykes spent the past four seasons (2013-2016) as Cal’s head coach, prior to which he was the head coach for three seasons at Louisiana Tech.
Dykes is a Texas native, and got his coaching start at J.J. Pearce High School, in Richardson. Dykes also spent time at Texas Tech as the wide receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator.
This raises questions about the roles of the rest of the offensive staff, specifically with how it will impact Curtis Luper. There’s no doubt though that adding a name like Dykes to the staff will have an impact in recruiting, as well as on the field.
