When Jokes Go Right Over Your Head feat. The Western Virginia University

If you’ve been keeping up with our Frogs O War articles, or tweets in the Horned Frog Twittersphere you might have seen a few tweets with the phrase “Western Virginia”. The joke was started from this tweet, which screengrabbed a graphic from an Eagles game in which the graphic said the CB Rasul Douglas went to “Western Virginia University”:

And we at Frogs O War (and some other members of Frog Nation), seeing as we were to play WVU after the bye week, completely ran with it.

And of course, the Mountaineers being Mountaineers just didn’t quite get the joke.

*Shrug Emoji*

“Have a blessed day”

Did you know that ‘West Virginia’ has been a separate state since 1863? Because who knew?

OOOOOooooOooooohhhh Burnnnnnnn!

Ah yes because jokes mean that we are now not a REAL college... because that makes complete sense.

I’m sensing a theme with the word “moron”.

THE GREATEST. EVER. EVERYONE KNOWS THIS. IT’S A FACT.

If only we had Editors, *sigh

BINGO! BINGO, BINGO, BINGO!

Yawn* sorry what?

Where* Virginia* Any* and the states don’t belong to you good Mountaineer.

“Namen”

All I want to know is the amount of Google Searches for “West Virginia Independence” because of this bit. Because how many of you Mountaineers actually knew the exact date without looking it up?

I don’t expect this Western Virginia bit to die down anytime soon. Especially with College GameDay in town (#BeatWesternVirginia will make great signs Frog Fam). So sorry not sorry Mountaineers.

Sincerely,

Frogs O’ War
