Lessons Learned: TCU 43, KU 0

The Frogs turn to a new chapter in the Kansas series, as the expected struggle never eventuated.

While TCU has been a Big 12 member since 2012, there has been one aspect of Big 12 play that they hadn’t enjoyed until tonight; routing the Kansas Jayhawks. While Kansas has yet to collect a win over the Frogs since we’ve become conference brethren, the Jayhawks have been a consistent thorn in the side of the Frogs with inexplicably close games coming in every meeting, no matter how good or bad TCU was that year. This year the Frogs joined that club, however, as there was simply no doubt about this one after the first possession.

The Frogs continued their mastery of third down, Kenny Hill turned in a fantastic performance against a defense that was the start of his downfall a year before, and the TCU defense had an answer for absolutely everything that their old friend Doug Meacham threw at them. Kansas earned four total first downs, two coming off of penalties, and finishing with less than fifty total yards. This was just an evisceration, and it felt pretty dang good. Jamie and the rest of the FoW crew will give all of the hot takes soon (43 takes may be too many, Jamie), but in the meantime let’s just enjoy this.

Go Frogs.
