Iowa State is aiming for its fourth consecutive win. The Cyclones appear in the AP Top 25 this week for the first time since September 2005 and would gain at least a share of the conference lead with a victory.

Iowa State hasn’t quite hit the meat of their schedule, but has played every team on it’s schedule tough and looks vastly improved from two years ago. We should be counting our lucky stars this isn’t a night game in Ames.

Coach Matt Campbell and his Cyclone team dispatched of Texas Tech and its high-powered offense, 31-13, Saturday. Iowa State’s defense has been stellar through four games of Big 12 play, holding teams 10 or more points under their scoring average.

Turpin earns another weekly honor as one of the most dynamic return men in the country

Turpin returned a punt 90-yards to the end zone for a touchdown, bobbing and weaving his way through the Jayhawk punt coverage unit until he found some daylight. It equaled the second-longest in TCU history, and it was the third punt return touchdown of his career, tying him with Linzy Cole and Blanard Spearman for the most all-time by a Horned Frog.

The Frogs will host the Horns in primetime on Nov. 4 on ESPN.

ESPN chose a 6:15 p.m. kickoff for the Horned Frogs’ game against Texas on Nov. 4 at Amon G. Carter Stadium. It will be the second consecutive night game in Fort Worth for TCU.

Basketball

TCU Men’s Basketball scrimmage set for Nov. 3 | NBC DFW

TCU’s purple vs. white scrimmage night sounds like a fun affair, as after the hour-long game the players will participate in 3-point shooting, half-court shot, and dunk contests. Their regular season starts Nov. 10.

Free Jamie Dixon bobbleheads will be given away and the first 1,000 TCU students will get a free Frog Army T-shirt. There will also be free Gatti’s Pizza for TCU students.
