The Big 12 announced suspensions after the fight between TCU and Baylor that took place in the second half of Friday morning’s game, and TCU will be down a starting safety as a result.

TCU’s starting safety Nick Orr was assessed a half-game suspension for the Big 12 Championship this Saturday against Oklahoma, which will be served in the first half. Orr was seen throwing punches, after he had been pinned to the ground and kicked/punched by D.J. Artis. Orr is a huge loss for the Frogs’ secondary.

Two Baylor Bears were suspended - running back JaMycal Hasty for the first half of Baylor’s conference opener next season vs. Kansas, and D.J. Artis for a full game, for kicking and punching TCU players.

TCU is already fighting an uphill battle against an incredible Oklahoma offense, and losing Orr for a half certainly doesn’t help matters. Guys like Markell Simmons, who had already been pressed into duty due to Niko Small’s injury, will probably play a larger role in the first half, as will Innis Gaines and probably Michael Downing Jr.
