TCU Basketball has cracked the AP Top 25 Monday, as the Frogs came in at #23 in this morning’s poll.

Coming off of their Emerald Coast Classic Tournament victory, the 6-0 Horned Frogs went from receiving votes to ranked after wins over New Mexico and St Bonaventure.

The Frogs haven’t played the most difficult of schedules thus far, but they have wins over a couple of likely tournament teams in USD and the Bonnies. They also have the nation’s longest winning streak at 11 games, dating back to last year’s NIT Championship run. This is the first AP Top 25 ranking for TCU since being ranked No. 25 on Dec. 22, 2014. The No. 23 ranking is TCU’s highest since Jan. 11, 1999 when the Frogs were ranked No. 21.

They will have a chance for a signature early-season win when they welcome SMU to Fort Worth in early December, the best team on their non-conference slate.

Joining the Frogs as Big 12 conference members in the top 25 is #2 Kansas, #16 Baylor, #19 WVU, and #22 Texas Tech. That’s a full 50% of the conference ranked, something that no other league can claim.

Duke is the unanimous #1 after an impressive showing in the PK80. #3 Michigan State, Villanova, and Notre Dame round out the top five.

TCU is back in action Wednesday night when they face Belmont at Schollmaier Arena, with tip off set for 8:00pm.
