In his post game press conference Monday night, TCU Basketball head coach Jamie Dixon informed reporters that true freshman point guard RJ Nembhard was likely to redshirt this season, disclosing that the former four star recruit has been dealing with a knee issue that has kept him off the floor recently.
“RJ, with the knee, it’s looking like we are going to be redshirting him, as things play out here, with his knee bothering him,” Dixon said Monday evening after the Frogs win over Texas Southern.
Though the extend of the soreness/injury is unknown at this time, the Keller product appears to be done for the year. Nembhard has appeared in five games, playing just 31 total minutes, and scoring nine points. With his absence, Dixon said that they will try harder to get transfer Shawn Olden going with more consistent minutes as the fourth guard in the rotation.
