The boys of spring are getting ready for their closeups, and it’s beginning to feel a lot like pitchers and catchers with the release of the first preseason poll this week. Collegiate Baseball Newspaper put out their inaugural poll Tuesday, and they tabbed the Horned Frogs at #9 in it.
You know we are getting closer to the start of the season when @CBNewspaper releases it’s preseason rankings! Frogs check in at No. 9. #IsItFebruaryYet #GoFrogs pic.twitter.com/jSG1bkst3f

TCU is one of four Big 12 teams tabbed in the top 40, as Texas Tech is CB’s #5 team, Texas comes in at #26, and Oklahoma State at #27. Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Baylor all received votes.
The state of Texas is well represented as well, with seven Lone Star State teams raked - the Red Raiders, Horned Frogs, and Longhorns are joined by Dallas Baptist (#11), Houston (#30), Sam Houston State (#32), and Texas A&M (#33).
Collegiate Baseball also tabbed first baseman Luken Baker a first team All-America and starting pitcher Jared Janczak a second teamer, the first career preseason honor for the junior.
Congrats to our two @CBNewspaper Preseason All-Americans! Luken Baker (1st Team) honored for the second straight season and Jared Janczak (2nd Team) with his first career preseason honor. #GoFrogs pic.twitter.com/m5FhrKeUyn
