3-star defensive end Ochaun Mathis has signed his National Letter of Intent and sent it in to TCU. Mathis, TCU’s first commit for the class of 2018, signed after being a Frog pledge since late January.

The 6-5, 235-pounder is from Manor, Texas, and he was also being heavily recruited by Oklahoma. He held offers from the Sooners, as well as Oklahoma State and Texas Tech, but he never wavered in his commitment to the Frogs.
Mathis has great burst off the edge, and while he needs to bulk up a bit from his current 235, he’s got the edge speed to make an impact as a pass rusher in the Big 12.
