Alamo Bowl Game Thread: #15 TCU vs #13 Stanford

It's bowl time! The Frogs look for their 11th win of the season as they take on the Stanford Cardinal down in San Antonio.

One more time, Kenny.

We were going to be terrible again. Then maybe we were at least going to be okay. Then we were going to be Big 12 title contenders. Then we were going to the playoffs. Then we were at least going to win the Big 12. Then we were at least going to make a NY6 game. Then we ended up in the Alamo Bowl once again. A season that was somehow simultaneously beyond expectations and disappointing comes to an end today, as the Frogs look to end the season on a positive note by notching an 11th win for the third time as members of the Big 12 conference. The Frogs should finally be healthy for this one and this will be the final game in purple for a few of our favorite Frogs, including the mercurial Kenny Hill, Bear slayer Kyle Hicks, hopefully the last men to wear #9 before it's retired John Diarse and Mat Boesen, everyone's simultaneous favorite and least favorite member of the secondary Ranthony Texada and many more. I hope that this game will be a fitting send off for these men who have given us so much and I can't wait to see them take the field again tonight. Stanford is a very interesting matchup for the Frogs speedy D, as Jim Shaw tends to favor bonus linemen over Big 12 concepts like "Slot receivers", meaning that Coach Patterson will have to dig a bit further down in his 4-2-5 experience to when the defense was first designed to be a run stuffing unit above all. This game will probably not end up with as massive a point explosion as another Pac 12/Big 12 match up might have brought us, but if we've learned anything from the Alamo Bowl before, it's that not to change the channel until the clock reads 0:00.

This is your game thread for the Alamo Bowl to chat, join in analysis and post humorous gifs and images as we take one more ride on the wild 2017 TCU train.

Go Frogs.
