Chris Del Conte is no longer a Horned Frog. The man in purple who led TCU from the desert to the promised land, kept and expanded upon a phenomenal group of head coaches, and brought a tremendous amount of fundraised dollars . Here’s the official statement from CDC.

Del Conte has been responsible for so much with the Frogs. He’s extended Gary Patterson and Jim Schlossnagle, two of the best coaches in the country in their respective sports, to help keep them from leaving the school, and he brought home TCU alum Jamie Dixon to resurrect the basketball team.
He also helped get TCU into the Big East and the Big 12, and has done a tremendous job of fundraising to support new stadiums for football and basketball, and tonso f improvements to the baseball stadium as well.
If Del Conte was ever going to leave, it was going to be for a program like Texas, where he’ll no doubt be successful.
