TCU picked up a big athlete late last week, flipping NI’Jeel Meeking from Louisiana-Lafayette. The 6-3, 205 pound athlete was mainly a wide receiver in high school, but it’s likely that he moves to the defensive side of the ball when he gets to Fort Worth.
Meeking held offers from Louisiana-Lafayette and Mississippi State, and the Bulldogs had him targeted as a big wide receiver priority for them, despite his 2-star status.
Meeking is a big, rangy, quick athlete who will definitely need to grow into whatever position he’s placed at. While that’s yet to be determined, we all know that Patterson has a knack for molding offensive players into defensive beasts, and hopefully that becomes the case for Meeking.
So, while he may be one of the lower-rated recruits in the #CarterBoys17, don’t sleep on Meeking’s potential.
Check out his hudl film here, and welcome him to the #FrogFam!
