It’s that time of year when football start times begin to get announced, and four TCU games have been released.
TCU vs. Jackson State | September 2 | 7pm | Fox Sports Network
TCU opens the season against an FCS opponent in Jackson State. It’ll be the first time we get to see the offense with Sonny Cumbie at the reigns, and it’ll be interesting to see how long it takes before the starters (aka Kenny Hill) get to take a seat so we can see some other guys get some PT (aka Shawn Robinson).
TCU @ Arkansas | September 9 | 2:30pm CT | CBS
TCU will take on Arkansas in Fayetteville on Week 2 of the season. The Razorbacks escaped Fort Worth last season with a 41-38 win, so the Frogs will look to exact some revenge in 2017. This will also be Brad Nessler’s debut in the booth, replacing the legendary Verne Lundquist. I’m pretty pleased with this, because the 2:30 CBS game always has tons of eyes on it.
TCU vs. SMU | September 16 | 2:30pm CT | ESPNU
The Iron Skillet will be an afternoon game in early September, meaning it’s probably going to be hot as hell and thus, poorly attended. Nothing like a rivalry game.
TCU vs. Baylor | November 24 | 11:00am CT | Fox Sports 1
This one is a big bummer. 11am on Black Friday is no time for a rivalry game. Of course, it’s what happens when both teams go a combined 13-13 the previous season. Now, if TCU can just replicate the beatdown they put on the Bears last season, that’ll make up for the start time. I just hope that the time doesn’t keep people away.
