Smith chose TCU over Tennessee, Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, and Texas Tech. He also held offers from Georgia, Ole Miss, Louisville, Virginia Tech, and Oregon State, among others.
Eddie is rated as the No. 2 cornerback in Louisiana, and he stands at 6’0’’, 178 pounds, and he was on a visit to TCU just this afternoon. He’s also rated as the No. 42 player in Louisiana, and the overall No. 72 cornerback, according to the 247 Sports Composite. Those ratings will most likely go up during his senior season, however.
The Frogs now have nine commits for their class of 2018, four of whom hail from Louisiana. Another big time Louisiana recruit TCU has been recruiting also took notice of Smith’s commitment.

TCU has some serious momentum on the recruiting trail right now, and it’s evidenced by their work in Louisiana. This will most likely not be the last recruit TCU gets from The Boot, but Smith is certainly a phenomenal one.
