He’s the tenth player committed to TCU for the class of 2018 and the sixth from the state of Texas.

TCU Football continued its strong momentum with #CarterBoys18 on Saturday, as 3-star (per 247 Sports Composite) wide receiver Chase Van Wagoner committed to the Horned Frogs.

Van Wagoner held offers from teams across the country, such as Arizona, Arizona State, Duke, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Washington State, and Wisconsin. He also held offers from Big 12 schools Iowa State and Kansas and in-state schools Houston and Rice, among many others.

Chase stands at 6’1”, 176 pounds, and is rated as the No. 98 player in Texas and the No. 24 wide receiver in the state, per the 247 Sports Composite. His highlight tape is filled with stuff coaches love to see, from big-time playmaking ability to making big, key blocks to spring other receivers and running backs. With another season to go at Lovejoy High School in Lucas, TX, I’m sure we’ll see his rankings rise.

TCU’s class of 2018 is now at ten commits, with six coming from Texas and four coming from Louisiana. One commit who is excited about the prospect of playing with Van Wagoner is quarterback commit Justin Rogers.

With three commitments coming in the past three days, TCU has some serious momentum on the recruiting trail heading into some major camps this summer. Frog fans will want to keep an eye on The Opening this summer, and in particular, team Vapor Speed.

As noted by Jeremiah Glenn of HornedFrogBlitz, this team features not only two #CarterBoys18 commits (Justin Rogers and Atanza Vongor), but also numerous other targets like Ja’Marr Chase, Terrace Marshall Jr., and D’Shawn Jamison.
