The Horned Frogs will play in the second annual Basketball Hall of Fame Classic this year, on December 8th. TCU-Nevada is one of three games that will be played that day.
The event on Dec. 8 at Staples Center here will feature Oklahoma against USC, St. John's playing Arizona State and TCU against Nevada.
JUCO transfer Andre Pierce, who signed with TCU in April, has decided to skip TCU and head to the pros. The Frogs still have five new faces joining the team this upcoming season.
Among the Horned Frogs’ newcomers next season will be two upperclassmen: forward Ahmed Hamdy (6-9, 240), a graduate transfer from VCU, along with guard Shawn Olden, a 6-3 transfer from New Mexico Junior College. The Frogs also landed three signees from the high school ranks (forward Lat Mayen, guard R.J. Nembhard and center Kevin Samuel). Forward Kouat Noi, a forward from Australia who redshirted last season, also will be in the mix for playing time.
TCU will host Missouri State in the Super Regional round of play. As Schloss said, there’s no easy team to beat once you get to this point in the season.
"If you go into Arkansas and win a regional, you have a good team," Schlossnagle said of Missouri State. "That's what you get this time of year. You don't float on a magic cloud all the way to Omaha - you have to play your way there."
