One of the best ever to put on TCU Purple, LaDainian Tomlinson is just days away from cementing his status as one of the best ever to play the game of football, PERIOD, with his pending induction to the NFL Hall of Fame. TCU will commemorate LT’s enshrinement with a special ceremony of their own, beginning on Twitter and Facebook tonight at 7:30 CT.
TCU, which has shown again and again that they are at the top of the food chain when it comes to marketing and social media, has put together an exciting series in the model of ESPN’s 30 for 30, beginning with tonight’s opener: “The Dream Begins”.

The five part series will run today through Friday, leading up to the induction ceremony Saturday, which will take place at 7:00 PM in Canton, Ohio. The events kickoff with the Hall of Fame Game, which takes place Thursday between the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals.
Tomlinson starred for the Frogs from 1997-2000, ushering in the new era of TCU Football success, beginning with the Sun Bowl win in 1998. An All-American in 2000, LT was a Heisman Finalist, rushing for 5,387 career yards and 56 TDs, including 22 in his last season. He set the then single-game rushing record in 1999 against UTEP with 406 yards - that mark would stand until 2014. He was the Doak Walker winner ahead of being selected 5th by the San Diego Chargers, with whom he would spend nine seasons with before finishing his career with the New York Jets. Tomlinson was a triple threat in the NFL, rushing for 13,684 yards, catching 624 passes for 4,772 yards, and completing eight passes in 12 attempts for seven touchdowns. His 162 careers scores are good for third all time - trailing just Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith. LT now runs the Touching Lives Foundation, and organization dedicated to promoting education, social and cultural awareness, and positive self-esteem.
The series, which was headed up by TCU Multimedia Maven Caten Hyde (with the help of many others) has been teased for weeks on social media by the @TCUFootball account, with several previews and promos. It has been met with anticipation by fans and media and promises to be something truly special.
