Basketball:

TCU is a Basketball School. While the men’s team is dealing with a bout of “close-loss-itis”, the women are making a statement about their spot in the NCAA Tournament.

West Virginia led virtually the whole game, and was up 18 early in the second half. TCU crept back and then a 10-0 run pulled the Frogs into a tie at 64-all with less than a minute to go in regulation.

The biggest lead for the Frogs was when they scored the first three points in overtime.

The embedded tweets here are some real fun basketball reactions, as the Frogs rightly celebrate their successes.

The road win over West Virginia was a different story, though, as the Frogs had to overcome a huge second half deficit. Against Texas, TCU actually led at the half, and the two teams were nose to nose over the final two quarters. But WVU led by 16 at the half and stretched the lead to as much as 18 in the third quarter, and took an 11 point advantage into the final frame. But the Frogs used some hot-shooting to cut the lead, and outscored the Eers 21-10 in the fourth quarter to force OT. Though the extra period was sloppy, a couple of clutch baskets and a great effort on the boards set up TCU for a game winning shot. After Torree Thompson missed a layup with less than ten seconds remaining, the Frogs forced a tie-up and had the possession arrow. Okonkwo drained a three and the defense held for the finals ticks to give TCU a two point win.

Trae Young Buried TCU Under A Barrage of Insane Three-Pointers | Deadspin

I’m including this for the video more than anything; If you have any doubt that TCU is a good team, you should watch how they close out and put themselves in position against Trae. They played him as well as anyone could’ve in Norman Saturday, and the man just does not miss.

Good job to these three for repping the Frogs late into the Playoffs.
