“We just got to be good in our rotations,” Wigginton said. “If someone drives to the basket, not help too much, but be good in our rotations and know who we’re guarding and know our spots on defense.”
That defense from the Cyclones, if efficient, will decrease TCU’s field goal percentage, which is currently at 50.2 percent this season. The Horned Frogs are also at 41 percent from the 3-point line, which is ranked 18th in the country according to KenPom.
Our friends over at Wide Right Natty Light will have a preview for the TCU - Iowa State game sometime today as well.
“I feel good about the team we are. There’s no doubt in my mind about our team that we’re good,” Dixon said. “We’re the most disappointed ranked team probably in the country at this point. I guess that’s good. I don’t know if you get any points for that, but that’s where we are.”
Despite a three-game losing streak, the No. 24 Horned Frogs (13-4, 1-4 Big 12) are still ranked after voters apparently took into account that the four losses are by a combined 11 points. TCU is also 25th in the USA Today coaches poll.
Malloy is a senior at Mills Godwin High School, where she is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. She excels in sprint free, as well as IM and fly. At the 2017 VHSL 5A Swim & Dive Championships, she placed 11th in the 200 free (1:58.00) and 13th in the 50 free (24.72). She also anchored both freestyle relays.
Malloy swims year-round for NOVA of Virginia Aquatics. At 2017 Winter Junior Nationals East, she competed in the 50/100 free and 100 fly and time-trialed the 200 free and 200 IM, picking up PBs in the 50/100 free. She extended her portfolio to include back, breast, fly, and IM at the NCSA Summer Championship, and swam the 50/100/200 free, 200 back, 100 fly, and 200 IM at the NCSA Spring Championship.
I won’t pretend to know what all of that means beyond “Malloy is good”, but I’m all about signing ‘croots. TCU is a swim school.
Kenny, Patrick, and Matt will get a shot to impress the NFL on Saturday, playing in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in Pasedena.
