#CarterBoys19 Grows With Commitment of CB William Jones

The Mansfield Summit defensive back was offered by the Frogs last weekend, and was quick to pull the trigger.

TCU Football scored their second commitment in two days with the addition of three star Mansfield Summit corner William Jones Tuesday night.

Jones, an under-the-radar prospect, should see a big uptick in his recruiting during his senior season, so it’s a good thing TCU got in his ear early. As a junior, he recorded six picks and nine PBUs on his way to All-District honors. Though just 5’10” and 165 pounds, Jones is a lock-down cover corner who can matchup up with bigger receivers despite his somewhat slight stature. With speed to burn - Jones is a track star in the 200m, and also a standout long jumper and triple jumper - he’s hard to beat deep and gets a great break on the ball when it’s in the air. He is a tough, hard-nosed player, who GP identified as a guy he had to have early on.

Jones is the third commit in the class of 2019, joining fellow corner Donovann Collins of Cedar Hill and Wyatt Harris, and OLB out of Aledo. The Frogs have offers out to three other corners and five safeties as they look to restock the defensive backfield. Check out his junior season highlights below, and welcome William to the Frog Fam!
