Well, life isn’t getting any easier for TCU this week. On the heels of three decommitments from the 2019 recruiting class, Kenedy Snell announcing his intent to transfer, and the Frogs trying to prepare for No. 9 Oklahoma, it seems as though the Frogs have suffered a huge blow to their secondary. Junior safety Innis Gaines is likely done for the year.
TCU coach Gary Patterson says Innis Gaines is likely done for the season on his radio show.

Gaines has been a revelation at safety for the Frogs over the past season and a half, and earned a starting role this year. Through six games, Gaines is tied for second on the team with 31 tackles, while also having 6.5 tackles for loss, a sack, an interception, six pass breakups, and a forced fumble.
The hard hitter leaves a big hole, especially considering that another starting safety, Niko Small, is also banged up. Markell Simmons and Ridwan Issahaku remain in the secondary, while freshman Trevon Moehrig-Woodard and redshirt freshman La’Kendrick Van Zandt will be asked to step up and fill the void left by Gaines.
Gaines will be sorely missed, but it’s “next man up” time once again.
