KaVontae Turpin has been suspended, according to Gary Patterson, following Turpin’s arrest for alleged assault of a family member. Patterson made the announcement on his weekly Big 12 conference call Monday morning.

Turpin will be suspended for the Kansas game this Saturday as Patterson and TCU continue to gather information on the situation, but beyond this weekend there’s not much clarity on what Turpin’s status with the team will be.

According to a Fort Worth Police spokeswoman, and reported by Drew Davison, the incident was between Turpin and a female. It is unknown how the two are related, but according to the spokeswoman, a dating relationship would fall under “family member.” which is how the assault charge was denoted on the Tarrant County Jail report.

So, it seems as though there’s still more information to come as it’s yet to be seen what will happen with Turpin following the Kansas game.
