Linebacker is a key position in the 4-2-5, and TCU has to replace the loss of their most productive linebacker of all time, Travin Howard.

TCU’s biggest defensive loss, without question, is Travin Howard. DE Mat Boesen and CB Ranthony Texada come close, but they didn’t produce like Howard did in his final two seasons as a Horned Frog. Who replaces those tackles in a 4-2-5 defense where linebacker is so critical?

No. 3 TCU is set to open its 16th season at Lupton Stadium Friday night when it hosts 2017 NCAA Super Regional participant Long Beach State. The Horned Frogs enter the weekend with a 2-1 record, while the Dirtbags are 1-3 on the season.
